Wendy Schiller and The State of American Democracy - January 16th in Newport Beach

The State of the American Democracy_v.2018

Brown Club Orange County proudly invites you to join
Professor Wendy Schiller for a discussion of
how the U.S. presidency, the courts, Congress and the media
are challenging American democracy today.

Wendy Schiller, Chair of the Brown Political Science department, has made studying the American political process her life’s work.
She is a well-known media commentator, author and lecturer on the topic.

The 2016 presidential election highlighted growing cracks in the consensus on which U.S. democracy relies. We will explore such questions as:
  • “Can the U.S. efficiently adjust to rapid economic and social change,”
  • “Are we as free as we were 30 years ago,” and
  • “What does freedom mean in the America of 2018.”

Come join us for refreshments
and a riveting and relevant discussion.
