Goodbye to Obamacare? Brown Club OC hosts: Health Reform After the 2016 Elections

Goodbye to Obamacare?

Brown Club OC hosts Health Reform After the 2016 Elections
presented by Professor Eric Patashnik
Director of the
Brown Public Policy Program

The Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare") has insured more than 20 million Americans, improved access to care, and led to better health outcomes.

President-elect Trump has pledged to scrap the ACA, yet also said everyone should have health coverage.  Can Republicans make good on the “repeal and replace” pledge?
  • What will the new U.S. healthcare system look like?
  • What changes are in store for Medicare and Medicaid?
  • What role will the states play in the health reform debate?
  • What will changes in health policy reveal about the direction of American democracy?

The answers will shape our nation for decades to come!

Patashnik is the editor of the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law
and the recipient of the Louis Brownlow Book Award for Reforms at Risk: What Happens After Major Policy Changes Are Enacted (Princeton University Press, 2008).
