Brown Club Orange County and Yale Club of Orange County will team up for a special group purchase of tickets for the Sunday August 23 presentation of Much Ado About Nothing. President Christina Paxson breakfasts with local alumni in Newport

Local Brown alumni enjoyed breakfast with President Christina Paxson on Friday, March 27th  - hosted by local alumna, Andra Greene '78, at the offices of Irell & Manella in Newport Beach.

All enjoyed hearing President Paxson talk about changes at Brown and where the University is headed in terms of physical expansion, curricular innovation and its mission as a leader in 21st Century education.

Brown Club OC Enjoys History Lecture with a Gourmet Twist!

Brown Club OC enjoyed a lecture at the Laguna Niguel Public Library Sunday, March 1st on 400 years of culinary history by world famous chef and author Anne Willan. Following the lecture, we were treated to a private wine, cheese and "seedy cake" reception at the beautiful home of club treasurer, Carl Schulkin and his wife, Bonnie.

Thanks to Anne Willan and her staff, to Roadrunner Ridge Winery in Fallbrook and Vin Goat Artisanal Cheeses in Corona Del Mar, and to the event hosts - Carl Schulkin '64 and wife Bonnie - for a delicious, entertaining and informative excursion into 4 centuries of culinary history!

Kate Bornstein is a Queer and Pleasant Danger

 On Wednesday March 4 at 7:30pm, the Hammer Museum is hosting a screening of the documentary Kate Bornstein is a Queer and Pleasant Danger, followed by a conversation and Q&A with Brown alumna Kate Bornstein, a transgender advocate, activist, and role model for a generation of people that is learning how to redefine its gender and sexuality. 

The program is free and open to the public, and the AMMO café in the museum is available for attendees to meet up beforehand for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee.

BCOC Celebrates the Year of the Goat!

BCOC enjoyed camaraderie, learned about the lunar calendar and national variations on the Year of the Goat (aka Year of the "Ram" or "Sheep") and feasted on plenty of good food at J. Zhou Oriental Cuisine in The District in Tustin.
We dined on Peking Duck, Eggdrop Soup, Szechuan style spicy white fish, Sweet & Sour Pork, Lemon Chicken, Shrimp, and Fried Rice washed down with hot tea and plenty of Tsing-Tao beer.
