Brown President Chris Paxson in Los Angeles Sept. 25
Bill, Judy, Marcia and Scott attended on behalf of your club, and Scott got to make a few remarks
thanking President Paxson and introducing our club to the 300+, largely LA-based audience. We also got to meet some of our friends from Brown Alumni Affairs such as Ginny McQueen and Lisa Miranda.
Details to be announced, but Brown's new President, Christina Paxson, plans to visit Los Angeles and meet alumni, parents, and friends on Weds., Sept. 25, 2013. If you can make the trip up there, or happen to working in that neighborhood that day, I really recommend you try to meet Chris. She is the 7th of Brown's 19 presidents I'll shake hands with, and a couple I knew pretty well. They were almost all pretty impressive people.
(I'm not that old - the overlap with one president was one year, and some were pretty short-lived.)
You will be asked for money regardless of whether you meet Pres. Paxson, so you might as well meet her. Stay tuned for more info, and help us explain to the Easterners that the OC is not L.A. or San Diego.

Brown Football on TV Sept. 28! Join us in Mission Viejo
NBC Sports Network will televise the Brown - Harvard game live from Soldier Field, Boston, at 4:30 PM Pacific on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 - and Brown Club OC will gather to cheer on the Bears at Oggi's Pizza and Brewing, Mission Viejo. Here's the info on our venue
http://missionviejo.oggis.com/
No admission/cover, family-friendly - we'll either be in the brewery room behind the bar, or on the patio outside - let me know your preference. Lots of flat-panel TV's. This is the same place we used for a game last year, so you already know where it is.
Brown is picked 3rd in the Ivy league this year behind Penn and Harvard. Can we score an early season upset? Join us at 4:30 PM on Sept. 28 and find out.

Barbara Tannenbaum presentation 6/8/13
Barbara Tannenbaum, public speaking guru extraordinaire, visited Orange County June 8th, 2013 and addressed BCOC at the home of Angela and Ranjan Gupta.
The weather, venue, food and especially the presentation were perfect, and the Club hosted dinner for Barbara and husband Cliff at the St. Regis resort later that evening.

Member Event: Judy Kaufman: The New Curriculum
On Friday, April 5, in Irvine, CA, Judy Kaufman presented "Ira Magaziner, the Genesis of the New Curriculum & Other Tales from the Class of '69".
